Abstract: This talk presents recent advances in the development of AI-based assistants to support human operators in a wide range of power system tasks. Moving beyond purely data-driven approaches, these assistants combine data with structured domain knowledge and expert reasoning, leveraging neurosymbolic learning architectures to enhance interpretability, robustness, and generalization. Furthermore, the talk explores how these AI assistants are embedded within a human–AI cooperative framework from the AI4REALNET project, where they augment rather than replace human expertise. Such systems are designed to support both predictive and real-time analytics to assist humans with tasks such as system monitoring, defining remedial actions, and operational planning.
